Tom Breeze

Bakery Manager

I’ll never forget my first day as a 16-year-old apprentice when I was given the job of flipping our mouth-watering Welsh Cakes on the hotplate – the wafting aroma was absolutely gorgeous.

From that day on I’ve benefited from the Jones Village Bakery’s grow-your-own policy and the company has consistently invested in my professional development.

Studying for my NVQ qualification and making products by hand triggered a real passion for baking.

Another memorable experience was being part of the team in 2008 that launched the first of the many products we now make for M&S – it was Welsh Cakes again!

That led to me being involved in the commissioning of state-of-the-art equipment when we opened a new bakery.

After that I was lucky to rise through the ranks and I’m now the manager of the bakery in Minera where it all started. It’s flippin’ great here.
