Project Engineer

The Village Bakery, an award-winning family bakery, is currently looking for a Project Engineer to complement an existing passionate and enthusiastic team.

As a member of our Engineering Team you will be directly contributing to this vision through your core tasks and responsibilities these will include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting the Projects Manager with the planning, building, installation and commissioning of all elements of new build project work across the Village Bakery Group. Current live projects include;

- Build and Commissioning of a new extension - 70,000 sq/ft bakery on the Wrexham Industrial estate campus.

- Ensuring there is a safe environment for those who work in, or visit, any of our manufacturing facilities.

- Identifying and delivering against opportunities to implement changes and continuous improvement projects to maximise plant efficiencies and energy optimisation.

- Managing projects contractor performance whilst on site to ensure the most effective and efficient fix.

- Supporting the introduction of new equipment to our market-leading production facilities as part of our continued drive for innovation.

- Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with stakeholders, managing expectations where required.

- Continuous professional development through industry specific training.

- Working with our technical team to ensure audit readiness at all times.

- Hours of work are Monday to Friday – 8am to 5pm

- The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

Essential

- Demonstrable experience within a similar projects engineering role, including the planning and delivery of new installations

- Demonstrable hand-on experience of project planning, including the administration associated with production and presentation of GANTT charts, timelines, project plans, etc.

- Time served multi-skilled engineer as this role will require hands-on support

- Great communicator

- A true problem solver in all areas.

Desirable

- Experience in a food manufacturing environment
