Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for a Combined Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Finance team in Wrexham (LL13 9UG). The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 08:30hrs to 17:00hrs

What would you be doing?

Our Vision as a business is to be the “Go-to” supplier of bakery products, working nationally with retailers such as M&S and Waitrose on their premium private label range and regionally through the Village Bakery brand. As a member of the finance team, this combined Sales and Purchase ledger role will see you directly contributing to this vision through your core tasks and responsibilities these will include, but are not limited to:

Key duties - Purchase Ledger:           

  • Processing and scanning of supplier invoices.
  • Cover for the weekly payment run.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of supplier details in SAGE.
  • To respond to in-bound Purchase Ledger queries.

Key duties - Sales Ledger:       

  • Raise sales invoices from despatch paperwork.
  • Allocate monies received from customers & investigate any customer deductions.
  • Liaise with customers to chase amounts due, including taking card payments over the phone.
  • Help identify and escalate slow/ late payers to the FC & Commercial.
  • Complete credit checks on new customers, recommending credit limits and payment terms.
  • Maintenance of customer details in SAGE, including prices.
  • To respond to in-bound Sales Ledger queries.

The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

  • Previous experience in both Purchase Ledger & Sales Ledger, preferably within an FMCG business with major supermarkets as their customer base.
  • Ability to enhance a well-established team (6 people in total) through team working, collaboration & continuous improvement.
  • Confident user of EXCEL and operating systems, preferably SAGE 200.
